Design and Energy Consumption Analysis of Small Reverse Osmosis Seawater Desalination Equipment

The reverse osmosis method has developed extremely rapidly in recent years and become the most competitive seawater desalination technology world, it been widely used all aspects. Large-scale plants cannot provide fresh water resources areas with insufficient limited space. Therefore, this paper proposes a research plan for small device based on osmosis, which is mainly suitable handling emergencies, disaster relief, desert outdoor activities other needs timely freshwater resources. It includes pretreatment modules, reaction infiltration module, post-processing module an energy supply module. Detailed design calculations are carried out small-scale membrane system, including selection quantity arrangement of membranes. Subsequently, one-stage two-stage system was modeled, its consumption analyzed theoretically from perspectives specific utilization efficiency; main influencing factors were clarified, optimal recovery rate operation determined to be 20%–30%. Finally, experimental prototype built conduct relevant experiments determine influence trend pressure, temperature, concentration, flow operating performance system.
